The anti-condensation heaters are used to prevent formation of condensation in the electric motors and generator windings. These heaters, also known as Space Heaters, are installed on the windings before varnishing / impregnation process by manufacturer if the buyer asks for it. If not, then it is possible to install the space heater in motor housing or cover (and shield) while motor is opened for rewinding or maintenance. The space heaters are normally switched on for some time (say 2–3 hours) when the motor / generator stops. Rewinding costs and machine down time can be saved if space heaters are used in the equipment.
