PTC Thermistors

These are positive temperature coefficient  sensors and are used in windings of motors. The  resistance of these thermistors increases  sharply (and non-linearly) with increase in the  temperature. Due this particular switching characteristic of the PTC thermistors, they are  used for over-temperature protection of various equipments.
